Game Reviews 1 Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption
The more elitist gamers threw their hands up in the air and howled at the moon when they realised Rockstar was trying to create a new franchise. I guess they still had a bad hangover from the dissapointing GTA4. Well, in all honesty, they still might need a good strong drink after playing Red Dead. While the storyline is stronger then any GTA outing, the gameplay is worse then Rockstars PS2 releases, including Bully and The Warriors. The controls are clunky, worse then GTA 4, the map while detailed is puny compared to what I expected and the ending is partly good partly bad. The game overall isnt a failure. The characters are brilliantly written, the side-missions, mini games and actual shooting mechanics are great too. The massive flaws with AI and gameplay do over-ride the good work done by Rockstar, but this is a mature step forward for the game company which is used to taking the piss of themselves and others for years. With 5 million copies sold in 3 weeks it will have a sequel sonner or later. Lets hope they improve the overall gameplay. To sum it up in approiate terms
The Good

Weapons and Gunplay
Detail of land

The Bad

Dodgy AI
Repitive missions

The Ugly
